November 4

Jay and Laura Callaghan work with the Diaspora of the Halifax area. They write, “The AIM Ride for Refuge fundraiser this year was a huge success, raising an estimated $12,500 CND toward Laura’s ongoing The Least of These medical project in Northern Kenya amongst the Samburu.  The leadership efforts of Kim Lidstone, together with the fundraising savvy of men like Dan Baetz and Paul Evans really put legs on this cumulative endeavour (literally).  Thanks for all at AIM and R4R for nominating The Least of These project as this year’s beneficiary.  The Lord’s work amongst the Samburu will continue, thanks to your efforts and generosity, including five new patients sent to Nairobi for cleft pallet correction surgery. Of course Camp Soar this year was a great success, and children of refugee and immigrant families from nine different African countries, as well as one last minute camper from Nepal, gathered for a week of fun and fellowship, as well as to hear The Gospel echoed through the ages: Bible stories from Abraham, Moses and David that foretold The Good News of Jesus Christ from ages past. Jay is traveling to this year’s Mission’s Conference at The Metropolitan Bible Church in Ottawa.  Pray that he is able to connect/contribute to the vision for missions of the believers there. Continue to pray for our ministry with Africans here in Nova Scotia, including our student fellowship with Acadian students from the continent, as well as continuing our outreach with our campers and their families with our bi-monthly outreach ‘Club Soar’.”
