“God showed me how to love through action as well as words.”
If you have a Great Commission heart and a desire to make a difference, the Ignite Short Term program is a great place to start. Whether you are young or old(er), God can use you in Africa.
Short term ministry assignments are designed to support our overall vision to see Christ-centred churches among all African peoples. We are looking for people who are:
- Committed believers in Jesus Christ
- 19 years of age or older
- Flexible, adaptable and teachable
- Love people and enjoy building relationships
Ignite assignments vary widely and we seek to match your gifts and abilities to a ministry need in Africa. There are 2 distinct options for service
- Team Placements (3-8 weeks)
- Individual Placements (3-12 months)
Why join a team? Serving on a team is a great way to gain an introduction to the world of missions. AIM teams are made up of people from around the world who join together on site in Africa to grow, learn and serve together. While some teams are scheduled to correspond with the North American college/university summer break, there are teams scheduled throughout the year. Ask us about the current open teams. Here are some of our featured teams:
Interested in a longer short-term experience? AIM short-termers may serve alongside of long-term AIM missionaries or engage in ministry with one of our African ministry partners. Staying longer means that you’ll have more time to develop significant relationships and make a lasting impression on those you are going to serve. Internships: Some college and university programs have the option of completing an overseas internship for course credit. Contact us to discuss how we can help you meet your school’s requirements through a placement in one of our ministries. Completing an internship in Africa will allow you to both meet school requirements and see how your training and skills can impact Africa for Christ.
